***UPDATE, 9/8/2011****** So, the girls ended up being sick for far more than one week. It took about 4 weeks for them to get totally past the kennel cough. Soon after that we began the heartworm treatment as they were both heartworm positive. They finished the last treatment in early August. Between April and August, their lives completely sucked. They were crate ridden as they had to rest to get past the heartworm treatment. It is a very scary time as they are very vulnerable to the treatment. In August, the fun began. They finally began to play with the others, and now are enjoying life. Macy, the mom just got spayed yesterday as we had to wait for her to surpass the heartworm treatment. They attempted to spay her back in March, but her heartrate started crashing, so they aborted the surgery. Macy also has mammary tumors, so those were removed as well yesterday. Now we wait one week for the biopsy results. Praying for good news. And most of all? I am so glad that these babies are at home with me and the rest of my gang. The smiles on their faces, and the pure joy of them enjoying toys and play time with their fellow furry siblings is priceless. ADOPT.
