my cat is not feeling well….we just got her from the pound, and she was a stray. She eats, but then she starts coughing and throws her food up. I gave her olive oil, because I thought it was a hairball. I’m just worried about my cat.

Throwing up food immediately after eating can definitely be a sign of hairball. There are home remedies and special treats you can buy to prevent this, but you should take her to the vet, because it can also indicate an intestinal parasite. Have you noticed any blood in the throw-up or in her stools? Either way, take her for a checkup anyway, because strays can easily pick up parasites by hunting or eating trash.
I would wait a day to see if she gets any better. If not, take her to the vet. She needs shots and a first check-up anyway. Also…did you know? Kennel cough is a canine (meaning dog) illness.
