What are the chances of a dog getting kennel cough twice and what percent of dogs die from it?

my dog already has it but it getting treated then getting her second round of shots.

Dogs can repeatedly get kennel cough. The vaccine really doesn’t work that well.
Only very young puppies, very old dogs or dogs with very weak immune systems in poor health die from kennel cough. It is simply bronchitis, so if your dog is healthy, there isn’t a lot to worry about. The vaccines are really not that good.
My dog got it twice even though she was up to date on her bordella vaccine. I stopped using that kennel.
The chance of your dog getting it again is independent of the first case of KC. Keep her up to date on her vaccinations – every 6 months if she’s constantly in contact with other dogs, every year if not. There are different types of organisms that cause KC, and the vaccination covers most of them – so she could still get it if she’s been vaccinated. Most dogs don’t die unless their immune systems are already compromised, like they have cancer, etc.
"Kennel Cough" is a generic term for Bordatella, which has many different strains. It’s a bit like the Common Cold in humans — a dog can get one strain, and then get another, different one.
A dog may be vaccinated against some strains, but it doesn’t mean they are completely protected against all strains.
I have never heard of a dog dying from Kennel Cough…although, if they were already unhealthy, and their immune system compromised, I suppose it could lead to a more severe upper respiratory infection without treatment.
Dogs can get kennel cough over and over just like humans get coughs. It’s common. Very few die from it as long as it’s being treated. The vet told me to give my dog infant or children’s cough syrup for it. It worked.
