Miso is our yorkie pup, only 5 weeks old. Last night he started coughing, we took him to the vet, and he has kennel cough. They tested for distemper and parvo and it was neither. He was giving an antibiotic shot, an x-ray, put into a nebulizer box, and sent home with three days of antibiotics twice daily. After 3 days he will go back for another nebulizer treatment.

I noticed my dog was starting to act a little funny always fluffing the hair around his face with his paws and not letting me touch his front paws anymore. We thought it was allergies but then he started to urinate almost every night at 4 am when he never had this problem before. We took him to the vet- allergies they said so we put him on Benadryl. Then he got these red spots all over, took him back to the vet, now he has staph. They put him on amoxicillin for 2 weeks which cleared up the red spots but then he broke up with bumps all over his back. Meanwhile the urinating every night at 4 am still was happening. Finally I took him back to the vet and saw a different vet and they put him on Simplocef?- a differnet antibiotic. He started taking it and miracle- no peeing at 4 am! The folliculitis cleared up nicely as well except one bump he still has. Well he has been off it for 4 days now as he completed his course and the peeing every night at 4 am has started again. He is more lovey than normal and follows me all around the house and he never really used to. No temperature, eating normal, lots of energy. This morning he goes outside comes in and throws up white foam. What in the heck is going on with my dog? I am quite sick of the vet at this point- he has been there 3 times in the last 2 months. Are they missing something? My dog is a 5 lb yorkie and is up to date on shots and just had his kennel cough shot about 3 months ago when he went in for a teeth cleaning. All this started happening after the teeth cleaning…. then I thought maybe it was leptospirosis since we take him to the lake often and have a pond out back but he isn’t really exhibiting the signs and it’s been 2-3 months since we went to the lake and we have 3 other dogs who would have it as well if that was the case. I am just confused… I don’t mind taking him back to the vet again but it seems pointless since his symptoms always come back. A different vet we took him to a year ago told us he had a small bladder but why has the 4 am peeing happened just in the last few months when he started w/ the itching? Any ideas I can take to the vet w/ me?

My pup was flown in from Ohio to Reno Nevada on March 30th and two or three days later I complained that my yorkie had a cough that wasn’t normal. This dog was sold to me buy a broker who sells dogs for breeders which wasn’t great, however he told me he didn’t have it when he left which I thought was garbage. I research kennel cough and everything alike. My dog on the 10th day of being home started coughing worse and couldn’t breath. I took him to the vet and because he seemed to be somewhat active I was given Clavamox. It didn’t seem to help and a few weeks later it the coughing came back stronger. Again and again the seller told me he’s fine. My dog is coughing like a goose, coughs when he is excited or eats, all the same symptoms of a collapsed tracheal issue which is genetic. I’ve already spent 0 at the vets for just Clavamox. The x-ray will cost 5 if I take him in this week, plus vet fee. My question is if he does have this issue how can I go after the seller and breeder? This dog was purchased with a visa card. Can I do anything about that?

I have a 4 month old yorkie and I know my dog does do reverse sneezing but I think she might also have kennel cough. All day long she sounds like she is snorting as she breaths and then she goes into reverse sneezing sometimes. She is eating and very active still. My mom’s dogs also do reverse sneezing but not weird breathing. What do you all think?
i bought a yorkie about 3 months ago he was in fine health. we had driven to the breeder to get him.. about a month later i bought another one. we had this one shipped since the drive was about 10 hours round trip and we were familiar with where the dog was coming from. i took the second little guy to the vet to get his regular follow up shots as well as a check up. they suggested i give him kennel cough medicine since he had been in a plane? about a week later he started sneezing/weezing/coughing pretty often and its getting worse.. on top of that, now my first little guys doing it too! i know kennel cough is highly contagous but how can it have been spread after medicine was given? my first guy never got the medicine, but he also never showed any signs of kennel cough WHATSOEVER until 2 or 3 weeks AFTER the medicine was given to my 2nd dog. what else could this be? if not kennel cough.. also, the symptoms are more drastic for the dog who was given the medicine. my first guys just starting to do it slightly. when we first got the 2nd dog, he was slightly coughing/sneezing, which is why we were so okay with the medicine being given to him. but now its 100 times worse since the medicine was given and like i said, my first guys even starting to do it
