My 3 month old puppy, Nellie, sneezes some. Its been happening for a while now. SHe is not sneezing CONSTANTLY but every once in a while she slips two or three sneezes. WHen we are playing in/out while she runs she randomly sneezes. WHen she is lying down, she sneezes a few times. Like I said, its not to much but 5 times a day. ANything to worry about? Kennel cough, maybe? She’s not coughing, shes sneezing. Well, I’m not exactly sure what a dogs cough sounds like either. DOes it sound like a human cough?
ALSO When I kinda pull back her eyelid instead of white being in the background its a more pink-ish colour. Anything to worry about?

Also, how much does the antibiotics cost? I’m pretty sure my puppy has it. He just started with this weird deep cough all day yesterday and now has it today. He isn’t trying to hack anything up, it just sounds like a deep congested type cough. He has nothing else wrong, eats plays drinks sleeps… All his normal behavior. He is 11 weeks and had his first shot. I just want to know how much the meds at the vet will be, and can he die from having kennel cough? I’ve had dogs all my life and never had one get this!! I also have 3 other dogs! Will they catch it???
My puppy has been acting like she has a hairball and is coughing but nothing comes up. This am a little piece of food did, but that was it. I took her to the vet and they put her on antibiotics…but i am so worried. The vet said to keep an eye on her and that it may be kennel cough. but does kennel cough like like she is choking and has a hairball????????? She wasnt doing the gagging/hairball ordeal when the vet was around. SO frustrating. She seems to do it more when she is laying down. Also, the vet was pushing on her throat and nothing was happening. I am SOOO worried it is something more and definitly keeping an eye out. I just dont know what to do for her because it looks uncomforable. She just had a cough/gag attack, but is now sleeping.

I recently got a new puppy from an animal shelter. I have three other dogs. I think this new puppy may have given them what they call kennel cough. The puppy was fine when i went and picked him out. Then I took him to the vet to get neutered, and the next day when i picked him up and brought him home..he started coughing, like something was stuck in his throat. And the next day my two other little dogs started doing the same thing, and now my German shepherd is starting to do the same. They are all healthy , besides the cough. They are all still eating good and everything. The two that started getting it first are coughing like crazy, they act like they are gonna puke, but nothing comes up. Its only been a few days, and I have never had a dog with this before. Is this something that will pass, or is it a serious matter, that will get worse. I just need to know, so I can take them to the vet. If I do take them to the vet is this a serious matter. I was reading online that it very contagious between other dogs. The dog I got from the animal shelter is the only way I could figure they got this. Either he got it at the shelter, or at the vets office when he stayed over night. Thanks.
Miso is our yorkie pup, only 5 weeks old. Last night he started coughing, we took him to the vet, and he has kennel cough. They tested for distemper and parvo and it was neither. He was giving an antibiotic shot, an x-ray, put into a nebulizer box, and sent home with three days of antibiotics twice daily. After 3 days he will go back for another nebulizer treatment.
No, this isn’t one of those ]I-don’t-have-money-for-a-vet questions. I just adopted a new puppy on Thursday. I was planning on adoptiong him two weeks prior to that, but he had kennel cough and had to be treated with two weeks of antibiotics before the shelter would let me take him home. So I took him home and I noticed that occassionaly he gets this pretty bad cough where it seems like he is going to vomit, but he just coughs. I took him to the vet the same day that I adopted him and his health checked out fine with the vet. My other dog also had a cough like that after I adopted him that eventually went away on it’s own, that’s why I wounder if going to a vet is necessary. What should I do? How serious is kennel cough?

My five month old puppy has been diagnosed with "infectious tracheobronchitis" which i think is the proper name for kennel cough. We have been given synulox which is an antibiotic to treat the cough and also rimadyl to ease the swelling in her throat. Shes been taking the medicine for 5 days now and seems much better and is rarely coughing now.
However after looking up rimadyl and seeing some horrible stories i am now reluctant to give her anymore of the tablets. She only has 2 more days of the medication to complete so i am wondering whether to finish the course or not. If i stop giving her them i dont want the cough to return. What would you do? add: shes a chocolate labrador

I got my 10-wk old puppy from the local shelter this past Sat. She’d already had her 1st set of vaccines & yesterday I took her to the vet for her 2nd set. While there they found she has a Respiratory infection (Kennel Cough), Giardia (protozoan that causes diarrhea), Sarcoptic Mange (a parasite), and a Staph infection. She was very good at the vet…didn’t bark or cry & stood still for the doctor. When we got home that evening with her, we gave the 1st medication for the Giardia & waited until this morning to start her other meds. WELL. My normally sweet, obedient, quiet puppy turned into a MONSTER. Was "playing" VERY rough, biting me & wouldn’t stop, hiding under the bed to chew up the box spring, going after electrical cords, running nonstop. Usually goes to bed @ 9 but was up until 12 & kept us up the entire night, barking/whining/clawing at her cage. What happened? Will she settle down again? The vet even said, "she’s either a good dog or she’s sick." Now what??! Just to note, she was very playful before – she just listened when we told her no if she got a bit rough. Does our vet showing us how to do the "alpha roll" and us using that on our pup have anything to do with her behavior??

So i got him on saturday, and now its monday. the pet store i got him at said they recieved him a day before (friday) kennel cough symptoms appear 3-5 days after contact. and it appeared sunday night. so im assuming when he arrived on friday at the pet store he was exposed to a sick puppy and got sick too.. Kennel cough is very contagious and lasts about 10-20 days. much like a human flu. I’m heartbroken it had to happen to him cause he is so young and still growing. It makes him less active and lose appetite just like when we are sick, so its not good for puppy hood. Heres a site on Kennel cough. www.dailypuppy.com poor guy..
