Both were vaccinated and brought to daycare for excercise. Within two weeks they both got kennel cough. This video was taken an hour before they went to the vet to be diagnosed. That was a week ago and retreiver recovered in two days. Young yellow lab still coughs when she rushes around.
Ming set in my room while guests arrive and usually she’d bark at the bring of her lungs, but I think she got a bad case of ‘Kennel Cough‘, this have started to become a daily event the past week and we’ll see a vet about her lungs, I thought she were vaccinated.
My new son Scooter who is a gorgeous pup came down with Kennel Cough 3 days after we purchased him. We thought at first he had something stuck in his throat. However after a few days of this naggy cough persisting we took him to the vet. He was diagnosed and given meds. Symptoms: Nagging cough and hacking Runny eyes Runny nose Lethargic – kind of… Wasn’t the same spunky fella we met when we bought him. He just looked like he didn’t feel good.
This is Justin. More can be learned about him, and his tragic situation, by going here: www.angelfire.com He has a deep cough, and yellow nasal discharge. He was a recent shelter rescue, and we learned tonight he may have distemper, rather than our original thought of kennel cough. The shelter he came from has been closed down by the county due to disease outbreak. We did have him quarantined for nearly two weeks at a vet hospital prior to transport, but symptoms developed on the day of transport, after the left the clinic. Fortunately he was isolated since we got him, but we feel it’s a tragedy that his life will come to an end tomorrow because his former owner didn’t care enough about him to provide a simple .00 vaccine annually. Please vaccinate your pets, and contact me if you are having trouble affording them! thedogmother@ymail.com
Turns out even if your dog is vaccinated, they can still get kennel cough, it’s just a lesser form. Made this video to show the vet, because we couldn’t get him to cough at the vet.
Biscuit is now 8 months old. He’d just started going to daycare because I’m studying full time, and got kennel cough despite being vaccinated against it. Took him to the vet, and the vet said no canine interaction for 2 weeks. This was day 3. He’d heard a couple dogs outside, and jumped up on the couch to see if he could see them. Sure enough, there were dogs out there, two that he went to daycare with, so of course he got all anxious and upset that he couldn’t go out and say hi.

Another video of my beagle with suspected kennel cough also known as canine infectious bronchitis, please vaccinate your dog against this virus. Remember though the vaccine will not prevent this virus 100% but at least your giving your dog a fighting chance. Sadly we did not vaccinate our beagle but did plan to when he’s fear of the vet was under control a bit better. Now were paying the price. If your dog has no vet fear then vaccinate him know against this virus.
Lack of sleep, exhausted, watery eyes, coughing gagging choking like cough, vomiting from severe coughing, bad smelling breath, if your dog has these symptoms they more than likely have contracted kennel cough, get them to the vet immediately as this is a highly contagious virus that can be passed on very quickly to other dogs.
