Turns out even if your dog is vaccinated, they can still get kennel cough, it’s just a lesser form. Made this video to show the vet, because we couldn’t get him to cough at the vet.

The vet didn’t tell me about Bordetella Bronchiseptica vaccine. Just hope the other dogs are ok.

I found this home remedy for cough and it worked so well that I wanted to share it with everyone. The first night I tried it, my son threw up a bunch of phlegm after 5 minutes which helped him get cleared up. About an hour and a half later, I gave him another teaspon before going to bed and within 5 minutes he was asleep (it usually takes him at least 30 minutes to do that)! Although he had the rapid shallow breathing due to his history of asthma, he didn’t cough during this first night and was able to sleep the entire night. He only needed 2 nebulizer treatments to control his asthma symptoms*. On the second night his asthma symptoms were gone and really slept well – even eliminated his snoring (a chronic problem due to stuffed sinuses). By day 3, he had an occassional cough – not as frequent, severe or lingering like his previous experiences (lasts for at least 2 weeks). He was even able to play basketball and spend a day outside. I only had to give it to him in the morning and before going to bed. I usually give it every 3 hours until cough is gone. Here’s to green living and good health. SAY NO TO DRUGS! *Please do not take this as a cure to his asthma symptoms. I only used this to control his cough. I have been using other approaches to control his asthma and allergies all of which I believe have currently helped him recover quickly. Should his symptoms not improve with his doctor prescribed rescue medications, we are prepared to contact his doctor/take him to the ER …

Biscuit is now 8 months old. He’d just started going to daycare because I’m studying full time, and got kennel cough despite being vaccinated against it. Took him to the vet, and the vet said no canine interaction for 2 weeks. This was day 3. He’d heard a couple dogs outside, and jumped up on the couch to see if he could see them. Sure enough, there were dogs out there, two that he went to daycare with, so of course he got all anxious and upset that he couldn’t go out and say hi.

A quick squirt is all it takes to protect your pet against Kennel Cough!

Another video of my beagle with suspected kennel cough also known as canine infectious bronchitis, please vaccinate your dog against this virus. Remember though the vaccine will not prevent this virus 100% but at least your giving your dog a fighting chance. Sadly we did not vaccinate our beagle but did plan to when he’s fear of the vet was under control a bit better. Now were paying the price. If your dog has no vet fear then vaccinate him know against this virus.

Also, how much does the antibiotics cost? I’m pretty sure my puppy has it. He just started with this weird deep cough all day yesterday and now has it today. He isn’t trying to hack anything up, it just sounds like a deep congested type cough. He has nothing else wrong, eats plays drinks sleeps… All his normal behavior. He is 11 weeks and had his first shot. I just want to know how much the meds at the vet will be, and can he die from having kennel cough? I’ve had dogs all my life and never had one get this!! I also have 3 other dogs! Will they catch it???

Lack of sleep, exhausted, watery eyes, coughing gagging choking like cough, vomiting from severe coughing, bad smelling breath, if your dog has these symptoms they more than likely have contracted kennel cough, get them to the vet immediately as this is a highly contagious virus that can be passed on very quickly to other dogs.

have a 3 yr old boxer. she has started having a cold like cough. she has never been in a kennel. what can i do to help relieve her? please dont say run to the ER… its just a cough. have a vet appt later this week, for regular check up. thanks!

I just bought a Bred English Bulldog who is due March 18th and she just started having light green snots coming out of her nose. No cough just boogies, she is not drinking much nor eating much offer her chicken and she will eat it but not interested in her original dog food she is used to??? Any ideas on what this might be? She is going to vet at 1 today to get checked out just wondering if any one has had these symptoms and the diagnoses? Thanks
