My frenchie needed the bordetella shot as well as dhpp booster on the same day so she could go to training with other dogs (help prevent kennel cough.) Instead, she became very lethargic and skiddish which is normal for the first 24 hours but she also had trouble breathing and irregular heart beat for about 5 days! I just bought a Bred English Bulldog who is due March 18th and she just started having light green snots coming out of her nose. No cough just boogies, she is not drinking much nor eating much offer her chicken and she will eat it but not interested in her original dog food she is used to??? Any ideas on what this might be? I woke up this morning to my 13 week old Australian Bulldog puppy Bear with this hacking cough. I have taken him to the vet and he said it was a viral infection and although he has had 2 of his vaccines it could possibly be Kennel Cough (recent outbreak in our area). As it is very mild (just sleepy, coughing sporadically – after/during play, he still loves food) he said he didn’t want to give him antibiotics (as to not lower immune system) unless it gets worse. He specifically refered to increase in frequency/severity of cough, loss of appetite and temperature. He gave me some cough medicine for relief in case it gets worse. I was just wanting to know of any ones experiences relating this and what to keep an eye out for and any natural remedies to boost immune system and overall health.
