Could be just his personality. On a side note though since he’s independent try to take his toy away when he’s playing with it. If he reacts negatively then start to increase his socialization. He might have some possesion issues. If he couldn’t care less then he’s just a loner!
As far as the grooming goes the sooner you start the better. Lhasa needs thier hair to be tamed to grow properly. It will also teach him to tolerate it alot better. Try using a warm spritz when you comb it. He might mess it up but be consistent and try once or twice a day.
well first ill just tell u about personality..they are even tempered and friendly, but wary of strangers, but will warm up to them…they can be nippy with kids…u need to train them early as well as socialization. they do well in training if they are praised and treated well…….grooming—-they need to be brushed/combed daily to avoid matting..they can also be clipped shorter for easier grooming…..btw, they need 2-3 short walks daily…it might just be his personality…every dog is different, whether or not they are the same breed…i’d part is fur once it starts to look like an adults fur…also, if ur new to dogs, i dont reccomend this breed,,,now a list of diseases they are prone to….progressive retinal atrophy, congenital kidney problems, atopy, intervertabral disc protrusion, and patellar luxation…..k that was a lot, but i hope i helped
b-babyg… They have an attitude of their own. we have 2 ones 11yrs old and very playful with our 2 King Charles, and Basset hound She has always had a problem getting a black like fungal growth inside her ears. Other then that nothing. We were never able to keep her hair as you wanted from a puppy on because she liked to roll around on the ground and shake herself. They require daily grooming. Yes they have a personality of their own. We now have her hair cut short all over. You should start now training her hair. Let me tell you we took her to the groomers once and had her cut. We laughed at the hair cut and she wouldn’t come near us for a week. Talk about attitude huh? We hurt her feelings, so needless to say we never done that again. She learned to roll over, speak, shake hands, and kiss you directly on the lips from a puppy. They are smart! Other then that there’s not much to say. Hope this is use full. Good Luck! Our Buttons, Ladybug, Millie, Bandit, and Kara Fawcett all wish your puppy a Happy Valentines Day! Steve
